Feministe hosted an interview with a male “feminist” and former sexual predator who’s publicly admitted to making an attempt on his ex-lover’s life (for her own good, apparently). When multiple people point out that he’s not a good dude, Clarisse Thorn decides to close the comments. And instead of apologizing, she chides Feministe’s readership for calling him a narcissistic sociopath… because that’s irresponsible.

I know Feministe is awful, especially lately, but I found this particularly disturbing

What is the point of Feministe anymore, anyway? Because, I dunno, I’m just an ignorant schmoe with a BA from a state school, but you’d think that a “feminist” blog wouldn’t run a fawning interview with a professor who abused his power over his students by fucking them (including FOUR of ‘em on one field trip) — then, in response to the revelation that he also attempted to murder a lover and his account of it is a vile mass of narcissistic self-pity, shut down the thread, scold the outraged for their “tone,” and threaten people who send angry emails full of “swearing” with bannination.

(BTW, Schwyzie is also said to be an abettor of paternity fraud.)

Like being able to identify dangerous characteristics in men (and others) such as narcissism and sociopathy is a survival skill that women particularly HAVE to develop, I would say a great many women have an extensive background on the meaning of narcissism and sociopathy. Schwyzer exudes danger and I think it’s classic Feministe to say “you’d better not try to put a name on what you see here!

Well, that’s modern “intersectionality” for you. It’s more important that we not be ~~ableist~~ to the poor pitiful sociopaths than that we encourage women to trust their gut instincts so that they’re not abused by giant towers of douche like Schwyzie.

I’d always figured that since creating and maintaining a worthwhile site is hard work, Jill decided she’d get more page hits if she just turned the place into a three-ring flamewar circus and ideological freakshow. Now I have to wonder if the real goal was to turn Feministe into the private preserve of a certain kind of “feminist” — the self-promoting professional kind, the up-her-own-ass academic kind, and the batshit, bullying SJW kind, all of which overlap to some degree. If you’re just an ordinary feminist, how dare you not grovel in obsequious gratitude before The Great Hugo and his fluffer, so-called “reasonable” (i.e., privileged-male-appeasing) “feminist” Clarisse Thorn.

Oh, and yeah, while I consider myself sex-positive, in that I’m all for sexual pleasure and freedom and that porn doesn’t have to be oppressive, I’m coming to the conclusion that the high-profile “feminists” who call themselves by that handle are grossly detached from reality (see also Susie Bright’s insistence that we should all look at NSFW stuff while at work in defiance of our uptight workplaces) and eager to fellate any entitled dude who will pat them on their bobbing heads and assure them that they’re “reasonable.”
